All lyrics, compositions, vocal works, essays, and musical material published on this site are original works by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA unless otherwise stated.

I welcome interpretation, collaboration, and licensed use of my songs and vocal compositions across music, film, theatre, and digital media.


Song & Lyric Licensing

My songs are written as open, interpretive works.
They may be adapted across genres and arrangements while retaining author credit.

Permitted with Licence:

  • Recording and release by other artists

  • Live performance

  • Arrangement and reinterpretation

  • Use in film, video, theatre, or digital projects

  • Spoken-word or instrumental adaptations

Standard terms (guideline):

  • Writer credit retained:
    Written by Sarnia de la Maré

  • Revenue split: negotiable (commonly 50/50 writer–performer)

  • Arrangement ownership: performer/producer

  • Underlying composition & lyrics: remain the intellectual property of the author

Formal agreements can be arranged as required.


Essays & Conceptual Frameworks (Continuum)

Essays, frameworks, and original terminology (including Free Vocal Linguistics and the Continuum Approach) are protected intellectual work.

Permitted without permission:

  • Quotation with attribution

  • Academic or educational reference

  • Non-commercial discussion and citation

Requires permission:

  • Commercial reproduction

  • Course inclusion

  • Publication beyond quotation

  • Rebranding or derivative frameworks
